Do you ever get that feeling as you’re driving home on Friday afternoon that you might have forgotten something? Maybe you decide that since you didn’t remember to bring whatever it was, it must not be all that important anyway.

Many of us who are trying to save money bring our lunch to work everyday. Some people may bring their lunch in a paper bag and can just throw everything out when finished. Others may bring their lunch in a reusable lunch bag.

The story I’m about to tell you happened to someone who brings their lunch in a reusable lunch bag.

It’s Tuesday morning, after a four-day weekend. People are straggling in and beginning their day. A pungent smell begins to waft through the air.

One woman standing at the copier tries to inconspicuously check herself for body odor. Another woman who is pregnant is passing through that same area, screws her face up and runs to the bathroom.

Finally someone starts asking others if they smell something rank. Every one admits that they do smell something pretty bad. One person suggests maybe it’s spoiled tuna fish. Another person suggests maybe it’s someone’s old gym socks.

After a few minutes of the resident humanhound (who says the smell of cooked eggs makes her sick) locates the source of the smell.

It turns out that someone had left their lunch bag in their office over the weekend with a bit of food still left inside. When they opened their office, the smell was let out into the open.

What was the food? Rice and beans!

So, my point is - Take home your lunch bag so you don’t smell up the office!
